Toronto-based photographer, originally from the Netherlands.I photograph weddings, elopements, portraits, and events. My approach is the same across all of them: show up as a person first.
How I Work
On the day, I'm calm. I give direction when you need it and step back when you don't. I stay that way when the timeline shifts, when families get complicated, when the light disappears. My goal isn't to blend into the background. It's to feel like someone you're genuinely glad is there. More friend than photographer.
What I'm after
I want you to look at these photos in twenty years and feel exactly where you were. Not just remember the day. Feel it. The laugh that caught you off guard. The uncle who cracked a joke at the wrong moment.
That's the duality I'm interested in. The raw, unscripted moment and the beautiful, considered image. Both honest. Both yours. Life isn't one thing, and the best photos shouldn't be either. The candid tear and the portrait you frame. The chaos and the calm. That tension is where the real work lives, and it's what makes people genuinely interesting to photograph.
